Working from the Mammoet depot in Thornaby, Teesside, Mammoet Offshore Services specialise in loadout and installation of large and heavy structures in marine and offshore environments. The role of an offshore services Workshop Technician is to support in the preparation and maintenance of all the specialised equipment to the high standards expected within Mammoet and the offshore industry. This role will involve occasional travel in the UK and overseas. Applicants must have full right to work in the UK without restriction.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
- Maintenance, preparation and general upkeep of Offshore Services equipment including but not limited to strand jacks, hydraulic power units, winches, ballast pumps, hydraulic jacks and weighing equipment.
- Inspection and maintenance of wire ropes, rigging and general lifting equipment.
- Packing and unpacking of containers in accordance with detailed packing lists.
- Supporting the workshop supervisors with the maintenance, housekeeping and general upkeep of the yard and workshop facilities.
- Testing and calibration of load sensitive equipment.
- Verify that daily equipment checks are completed and recorded in accordance with company procedures.
- Complete maintenance records in accordance with work completed.
- Participate in both external and internal company training schemes.
- Adequately control your own work areas.
- Participate in all Health, Safety, Quality and Environment (HSQE) initiatives such as prevention of non-conformities in the form of accidents, injuries and illness and actively seek to eliminate any unsafe work practices and conditions, following company procedure to report any accident or incident.
- Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with legal, company and client safety regulations, risk assessments and method statements.
- Maintenance and care of all PPE issued to you and report any defects.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
- Essential:
- Mechanical/Electrical/Hydraulic City and Guilds, ONC, NVQ Level 3 or similar
- Mechanical/Electrical/Hydraulic background
- Clear understanding of the relevant equipment and its use
- Excellent verbal and written English
- Current valid driving licence
- Right to work in the UK without any restrictions
- Desirable:
- Experience in hydraulic and mechanical maintenance and hydraulic system operation
- Problem solving and fault finding
- Able to invent and propose new methods of work/modifications to existing systems
- CCNSG Site Safety Passport
