SUMMARY OF THE ROLE
Competitive salary with a fantastic benefits package. Based at Mammoet Offshore Services HQ in Thornaby, Teesside.
The primary role is to manage the Equipment Management Department (EMD) within Mammoet Offshore Services, ensuring that the fleet of equipment that is utilised globally is repaired and maintained proactively, on time and to the highest quality. Working closely with operations, you will play a key role in preparing equipment for mobilisation to projects, condition monitoring of the fleet and responding to breakdowns. You will also be responsible for managing workshop operations at the Teesside base. Reporting to our Head of Operations, this is a full time, permanent position to be based at our Teesside office. Additional travel to other UK offices, head office in the Netherlands, and project sites will be required.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
- Manage Offshore Services fleet of equipment for all aspects related to maintenance, repair, condition monitoring and breakdown.
- Drive quality and efficiency within the EMD department, working closely with the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Offshore Services equipment and our technical managers.
- Ensure maintenance and repair activities are planned and executed efficiently, working with the EMD Planner and utilising SAP Digital Work Orders (DWO) and Plan Board.
- Control spending within the annual maintenance budget and equipment related CAPEX budget(s).
- Manage workshop operations within the Teesside base, working with the EMD Planner and Workshop Foreman.
- Build a global support network within Mammoet, and with external suppliers, ensuring that any maintenance, repair or breakdowns can be responded to quickly and efficiently regardless of project location.
- Work closely with the Operations team, including co-ordination with our Supervisors and Technicians deployed globally to proactively manage any equipment issues.
- Develop and mentor the EMD team and perform appraisals.
- Work with HR on recruitment of mechanical, hydraulic and electrical technicians as needed.
- Manage maintenance and repair related suppliers and subcontractors.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
Essential
- Excellent level of English both verbal and written.
- Valid UK driving licence.
- Full eligibility to work in the UK.
- IT applications, skills and understanding.
- 10 years of experience within plant or equipment maintenance activities.
- Previous experience of managing a mixed team of office and site based staff.
Desirable
- Knowledge of hydraulic equipment operation, maintenance and repair.
- Previous international business experience.
- Previous experience working within a lifting or marine service provider.
