Summary Of The Role

Trainee Slinger/Signaller for Sellafield project. Salary £14.27 per hour. OTE £35,000 per year. Fixed Term 18 month contract. Working from our project site in Sellafield, Cumbria with occasional travel required. Reporting to the Sellafield Operations Manager, all positions are fixed term 18 month contracts. We are open to receiving applications from candidates based throughout the UK. Please note, on occasion you may be required to attend our Teesside depot for training purposes. These roles are specifically for applicants without any tickets and looking to enter the heavy lifting industry. We are looking for candidates who are looking to secure a long-term, permanent career with Mammoet once qualified. We invest heavily in the training and development of our staff in order to help them progress; therefore longevity is incredibly important to us.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Assemble lifting gear in accordance with rigging plans.
  • Attach loads to crane hooks by use of lifting equipment including spreader beams, lifting beams, chain hoists, ensuring load balance, security and integrity.
  • Bank the crane by use of recognised signals to safely direct the load to different types of locations.
  • Perform manual handling activities.
  • Assist with the maintenance of Mammoet equipment.

What You’ll Need

  • Experience working in an outdoor environment.
  • Experience of travelling as part of your role would be desirable.
  • Forklift, MEWP, safety passport tickets are desirable.
  • You must hold a valid UK driving licence.
  • Willingness to travel and work throughout the UK when required.
