As a key member of the operations team your primary role will be to co-ordinate the movement of equipment globally within the Offshore Services division including handling the customs process. You will work closely with Project Managers, Planners, and other Logistics/Customs Specialists to ensure that our equipment makes it to our projects in on time while ensuring customs compliance and good record keeping. Reporting to the Operations Manager, this is a full time, permanent position to be based at our Teesside office. Occasional travel may be required to our equipment bases overseas.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
- Customs: Co-ordinate all customs activities within Offshore Services – at any one time we could have equipment moving into and out of 10 different countries; Ensuring customs paperwork is accurate and put in place in good time; Supporting the process of temporary / permanent import of equipment for overseas projects; Utilising British Return Goods relief on equipment returning to the UK; Working with local agents and Mammoet colleagues to advise project teams of the local customs rules at our various project destinations.
- Project Logistics: Handle requests from the project teams and planners relating to the movement of equipment usually by road, sea or air freight; Oversee the preparation and packing of equipment; Make freight bookings; Co-ordinate between internal stakeholders, carriers, agents and clients.
- Communication: Constant and highly effective communication is required between the project teams, maintenance team and operations team to ensure timely and efficient movement of the equipment.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
Essential:
- Proven international logistics experience.
- Deep understanding of customs processes – must be self-sufficient and able to direct others.
- Flexible and willing to be on call on evenings and weekends.
- Proficient in ICT in particular Microsoft Office Packages.
- Good level of English both verbal and written.
- Valid UK driving licence.
Desirable:
- Educated to degree level in a Logistics or Technical discipline.
- Experience with logistics and customs across a wide range of different countries.
