MAMEDICA is a private clinic with a linked pharmacy specialising in cannabis-based prescriptions for patients who have not found satisfactory results with their current medications. The clinic is regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
Role Description
This is a remote contract role for a Pain Consultant at MAMEDICA. The Pain Consultant will be responsible for assessing patients\’ pain conditions, creating personalised treatment plans, and providing recommendations for cannabis-based prescriptions. The role involves remote consultations with patients and collaborating with the clinic\’s healthcare team.
You’ll require the following essentials to be considered for this position:
• GMC Specialist Registration
• Excellent clinical skills
• Leadership skills appropriate for participating in a multidisciplinary team
• Ability to manage clinical complexity and uncertainty
• Decision making based on evidence and experience including the contribution of others
• Valid Indemnity Insurance
• Current DBS, registered for update service
Qualifications and Expectation of the role
- Strong background in pain management and consulting
- Experience in prescribing cannabis-based medications
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work remotely and independently
- Knowledge of regulatory guidelines for cannabis prescriptions
- Medical degree and relevant certifications in pain management
- Conducting remote pain assessments and prescribing CBPMs (Cannabis based products of medicinal use)
- Providing expert consultation on diagnosis, treatment plans and medication management
- Peer review patients in our multidisciplinary team meetings to provide safe and effective care
- Offering guidance and support to patients and their families to ensure patient care is met
- Maintaining accurate and confidential patient records in compliance with all relevant laws and regulations
