MAMEDICA is a digital healthcare business that integrates a virtual clinic and an online pharmacy to specialise in cannabis-based prescription medicines (CBPMs). We prioritise supporting patients who have not achieved the desired outcomes with their current treatments. As a fully regulated organisation, MAMEDICA meets the stringent standards established by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC), the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA), and the Home Office.
This is a self employed (or employed) remote role for a Chronic Pain Consultant. The Consultant will provide expert guidance and support to patients experiencing chronic pain, leveraging emerging therapies such as cannabis-based medicines. Responsibilities include:
- Patient consultations
- Individualised treatment planning
- Prescribing CBPMs
- Continual assessment of patient progress
- Maintaining accurate patient records
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary team members to deliver comprehensive care
The Consultant will ensure compliance with regulatory standards and act as a trusted advisor in patient care and treatment decisions.
Qualifications:
- Expertise in chronic pain management and a strong understanding of cannabis-based prescription medicines (CBPMs)
- Proficient in conducting patient consultations, evaluating medical histories, and developing effective treatment plans
- Strong ability in record-keeping, compliance with regulatory frameworks, and adherence to clinical guidelines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to support patient education and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams
- Familiarity with virtual healthcare platforms and telemedicine practices
- Board certification and relevant healthcare qualifications in pain management, anesthesiology, or related specialties
- Experience working in a regulated healthcare environment is a plus
