Following significant growth, we are entering an exciting new chapter in our 40-year history as a leading nursery brand. Within our IT Department, we are looking to recruit a SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR. This role may be called Systems Engineer or Infrastructure Engineer elsewhere, but essentially, it is the Technical Lead for our Windows VMWare environments.
Key accountabilities:
- Ensure the infrastructure is proactively maintained and monitored.
- Technical lead for Windows VMWare environments.
- Technical understanding of REDHAT LINUX servers.
- Design and implement new provisions into the estate, including automation.
- Conduct design reviews and improve processes for performance and cost efficiency.
- Follow approved procedures regarding change control and documentation standards.
- Diagnose and resolve issues escalated by the IT Support team across supported sites.
- Train and mentor IT Support team members.
Key requirements:
- Experience with REDHAT LINUX or similar UNIX/Linux technologies.
- HPe Infrastructure (Server, Blade, SAN).
- VMWare Infrastructure Administration.
- Good knowledge of networking (TCP, DNS, WAN, LAN, MPLS).
- Ability to troubleshoot infrastructure and application issues.
