We are currently recruiting for a Health & Safety Manager, who shares these same beliefs and values in providing an environment and Health, Safety and wellbeing mindset within all.

Key elements of this role include:

  • Develop and implement the Health & Safety strategy, priorities and KPIs aligned to business operations and objectives, which are principally centred on growth and efficiency.
  • Establish clear standards, policies and governance frameworks across Head Office (Office and Warehouse) and retail stores.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant UK Health & Safety legislation.
  • Deliver a risk-based audit and assurance programme across offices and retail estate.
  • Implement effective Health & Safety training to build capability across store and Head Office teams to deliver, monitor and dynamically assess H&S at all M&P locations.
  • Collate Health & Safety reporting with a different, sector-specific perspective in three key settings: Head Office, Warehouse (including product testing facilities) and Stores, working with existing operational teams to capture and provide monthly insights against sector norms and updates to the Exec team via the Executive Health and Safety Committee.
  • Provide guidance and oversight for colleagues’ home and remote working practices.
  • Horizon scan with the legal team to ensure workplace practices and facilities scope of testing, monitoring and assessment remain compliant.
  • Refresh, structure and chair the Workforce H & S Committee, and as required report and attend to the Executive H & S Committee.

NOTE: With over 300 colleagues based at our Head Office plus sole Warehouse and Distribution centre all on site, we will be looking for this person to be based here, at our Huddersfield (HD5 0RH) site 5 days a week if not out and about with some travel to stores encompassed within this role.
