Mama Bear's Day Nursery is currently recruiting for a 1:1 SEN Support Worker to join our friendly setting based in Whitchurch, Bristol. Our setting offers a stimulating, safe and welcoming environment to children and is focused on providing outstanding care to children from 3 months old to 4 years of age. We expect this role to be a 12 month contract but could end sooner depending on funding. The role is for 24 hours per week over 3 days.
The post is to work as a designated 1:1 member of staff supporting individual children within the setting who need SEN support. Whilst you are responsible for working on a 1:1 basis with specific children, at times you will also be required to work as part of a team and with other children in the environment supporting the staff team where required.
You will work with the Team Leader, SENCO and child's key person in ensuring all planning is effective for the child and that relevant documentation is completed, evaluated and shared as appropriate with multi-agency professionals. You will also be aware of and comply with the SEND Code of Practice and relevant SEN/D policies, processes, and legislation.
The ideal candidate will hold a Full and Relevant Level 2 or 3 Early Years qualification but this is not essential for this role. Ideally, you will also have experience of working with children with SEN needs or have experience of working in a similar role.
Generous benefits include 28 days holiday per year (pro rata), a competitive salary, free uniform, childcare discount, and an optional pension scheme. Due to the nature of this job, it will be necessary for an enhanced criminal record disclosure to be undertaken. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All staff and volunteers are required to share this commitment.
