About the role:

As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, availability, performance, and scalability of our Azure-based cloud platforms and applications. You will lead proactive reliability engineering initiatives, helping to establish observability standards, define service level objectives, strengthen incident response capabilities, and drive automation across deployments and operational processes.

Working closely with engineering, product, and operations teams, you will help ensure that new features and platform enhancements can be delivered rapidly without compromising stability, security, or customer experience. As a senior technical specialist, you will champion Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) best practices, improve platform resilience, and contribute to the continuous evolution of our cloud services and operational excellence.

What you'll be doing:

  • Monitor the performance, availability, reliability, and overall health of Azure cloud applications and services using telemetry, metrics, logging, and observability tools
  • Proactively identify issues, risks, and operational trends to prevent downtime, service degradation, and customer impact
  • Define, maintain, and continuously improve Service Level Objectives (SLOs), Service Level Indicators (SLIs), and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) in partnership with development, product, and operations teams
  • Lead and support incident response activities, outage investigations, post-incident reviews, and root cause analysis to drive continual service improvement
  • Drive automation and operational excellence across monitoring, deployments, recovery processes, documentation, and runbooks to improve efficiency and reduce operational risk
  • Collaborate with software engineering, product, and operations teams to embed reliability and DevOps best practices throughout the software development lifecycle
  • Identify opportunities to improve platform resilience, scalability, and operational maturity through data-driven insights and reliability engineering principles
  • Act as a technical leader for reliability initiatives, promoting a culture of operational excellence, continuous learning, and service ownership across teams

About you:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience
  • Significant experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, Cloud Operations, or a similar role supporting enterprise-scale platforms
  • Strong hands-on experience operating and supporting production workloads on Microsoft Azure
  • Expertise in monitoring, alerting, observability platforms, and cloud-native operational practices
  • Deep understanding of SRE principles including SLOs, SLIs, SLAs, error budgets, and reliability engineering methodologies
  • Experience with automation and development using technologies such as C#, Python, PowerShell, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
  • Strong knowledge of incident management, root cause analysis, CI/CD pipelines, and operational best practices
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and business teams
  • Azure certifications such as Azure Administrator or Azure DevOps Engineer are highly desirable
  • Experience working within regulated, scientific, or enterprise environments would be advantageous
