We have an exciting opportunity to lead a team of highly skilled assembly and test technicians, supporting the delivery of high-quality products while continuously improving production processes. In this role, you’ll contribute to a positive, collaborative team environment while helping to drive productivity and innovation.
Based within our UK Manufacturing team, this position sits in an ambitious, fast-growing international company that values inclusion, teamwork, and continuous development. You’ll oversee the assembly, wiring, calibration, and testing of opto/electro/mechanical instruments, ensuring products are delivered to a high standard and within agreed timelines.
What you’ll be doing:
- Lead team via DLA boards (daily layered accountability through daily team stand-ups)
- Deliver in full agreed production schedules
- Monitoring of all aspects of manufacturing production, recommending, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives leading to product cost reductions in both parts and labour.
- Fully embed our Lean Operating Model (LOM) into the ‘backbone’ of operations daily life
- Continuous analysis of current production processes and procedures, proposals for improvements, implementation and follow through of agreed upon changes.
About you:
- You bring a positive, proactive approach to challenges and lead by example in how you work and support others
- A solid foundational education underpins your practical and problem-solving skills
- You have experience working with lean manufacturing principles in a production environment
- You demonstrate strong general engineering knowledge across mechanical, electronic, and electrical disciplines
- You have experience leading or supporting production teams, helping to create an inclusive and high-performing environment
- Experience with the assembly and testing of light optical, electronic, or mechanical instruments
- A mindset that embraces challenges and continuous improvement
