About the role:

At Malvern Panalytical, we are looking for a Global Commercial SBS Leader to embed the Spectris Business System (SBS) across our commercial organisation, including Sales & Applications, Marketing, and Service. SBS has delivered significant success in operational environments where work is highly visible. The next stage of our journey is bringing the same structure, discipline, and continuous improvement mindset into commercial value streams to enhance pipeline quality, pricing performance, launch execution, service delivery, and customer outcomes.

Reporting to the Global VP of Sales & Applications, you will work closely with commercial leaders to deploy SBS across the organisation in line with an agreed maturity roadmap. This is a highly hands-on role where you will facilitate Kaizen events, coach leaders, and help teams build sustainable improvement capabilities. Success will be measured by the extent to which commercial leaders and teams fully embrace and own the system. The role is remote based within Europe and requires approximately 30–50% international travel.

What you'll be doing:

  • Drive measurable improvements across commercial Core Value Drivers, including order intake, funnel conversion, win rate, pricing effectiveness, quote turnaround, service delivery, and customer retention.
  • Facilitate Kaizen events and continuous improvement initiatives that deliver tangible business value.
  • Own commercial impact tracking, working closely with Finance and Sales Operations to validate baselines and quantify realised benefits.
  • Develop and manage the commercial SBS deployment roadmap, including pilots, scaling plans, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Apply SBS methodologies including Daily Management, Standard Work, Visual Management, Value Stream Mapping (VSM), A3 problem solving, and PDCA.
  • Lead governance activities covering maturity progression, capability development, improvement pipelines, and value creation.
  • Build organisational capability through training, coaching, mentoring, and SBS Practitioner development programmes.
  • Develop and support a network of commercial SBS champions, subject matter experts, and future improvement leaders.
  • Partner with CRM and data owners to ensure improvement decisions are driven by reliable data and insights.
  • Coach commercial leaders on leader standard work and continuous improvement practices within customer-facing environments.
  • Embed SBS into day-to-day commercial routines, ensuring ownership sits within the business rather than a specialist function.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Finance, Digital, Product Management, and the wider Spectris SBS community to share best practice and improve cross-functional performance.
  • Support the ongoing evolution of commercial excellence methodologies including Funnel & Pipeline Management, Pricing Excellence, Product Launch Excellence, and Value Selling.

About you:

  • Degree in Business, Engineering, Economics, Marketing, or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience within a commercial environment such as sales, sales operations, marketing, service, or commercial excellence within a B2B organisation.
  • Demonstrated success delivering Lean, continuous improvement, business excellence, or transformation programmes.
  • Experience facilitating Kaizen workshops, coaching leaders, and driving measurable business improvements.
  • Strong understanding of CRM systems and commercial analytics, with Salesforce and Power BI experience considered advantageous.
  • Comfortable leveraging digital and AI tools to improve analysis, insight generation, and commercial processes.
  • Lean certification preferred, with advanced certification desirable.
  • Professional fluency in English; additional languages would be advantageous.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data to challenge assumptions and drive decision-making.
  • Excellent coaching, facilitation, stakeholder management, and influencing skills.
  • Comfortable operating independently in a global, matrix organisation and driving change without direct authority.

What's in It for You:

  • Play a key role in shaping the future of commercial excellence across a global technology leader.
  • Drive meaningful business transformation through the deployment of the Spectris Business System.
  • Collaborate with international commercial, operational, and functional leaders across the organisation.
  • Influence business performance through measurable improvements in commercial processes and customer outcomes.
  • Join a culture focused on continuous improvement, innovation, and personal growth.
  • Access ongoing development opportunities, training, and career progression within the wider Spectris group.
  • Benefit from a comprehensive and competitive rewards package designed to support your wellbeing, growth, and success.
