Malvern Optical is a research and development provider primarily in the electro-optic and electro-magnetic (radio-frequency) systems domains. In addition, the Company provides electro-magnetic measurement services and electro-optical materials assessment and evaluation both at laboratory and platform level. We also provide independent technical advice within these areas.. We require a skilled engineer / senior engineer to join our team at the Malvern Optical Facility on Pershore Airfield, to undertake a range of EME and TEMPEST testing primarily on military products and platforms. The successful candidate may, in addition to his or her testing and reporting tasks, assist in providing consultancy support to some of our clients in the EME field and conduct additional tasks such as project based research and development activities. Evidence of EMC and / or TEMPEST testing experience in a business environment is essential. Familiarity of working within a UKAS accredited or CPTAS or approved environment is desirable. Equally, familiarity with RF communication networks is desirable. In your career to date you will ideally have gained most of the following qualities; experience of EMC platform assessment, TEMPEST testing, radiation hazard testing, design of EMC testing regimes, measurement uncertainty analysis, experience of working with Government customers, good communication and presentation skills. As part of your job role it is likely you will be required to assist in other non-related technical areas and trials activities within the Company. The post will require the successful candidate to be willing to undertake travel within the UK or abroad in support of project or business activities and to occasionally work outside of normal working hours. In return we offer a salary in the region of £25k – £48k per annum, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, overtime potential and a generous contributory pension scheme. Due to the nature of our business candidates must be eligible to obtain a full security clearance at the point of recruitment.
