Hourly Paid Psychology Lecturer – University of Cumbria
Hourly Paid Lecturer – Psychology
Location: University of Cumbria – Lancaster
Length of contract: January 2026 – August 2026
Deliver face‑to‑face teaching on campus to international pathway students.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and assess modules in accordance with the module specification
- Prepare, upload and manage material on VLE
- Hold personal weekly progress/monitoring meetings with students
- Mark and moderate students’ work, providing feedback and feedforward
- Attend meetings as required and write semester and end‑of‑module reports
- Carry out observations planned by the Head of Learning & Teaching / Centre Director following established policy and procedure
Person Specification
- A MBA or Master’s with significant experience in a relevant subject area
- Proven experience in teaching and assessing international students at undergraduate level
- Ability to work autonomously and commit to sensitivity to the needs of international pathway students
- Excellent organisational, planning, collaboration and communication skills
- Collaborative approach, experience working across departments or institutions
- High proficiency in using technology to support teaching, learning, assessment and feedback
- Ability to meet conflicting deadlines
- Student‑focused approach to teaching and learning
- A strong commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion
