Purpose of Post:
This post will provide a bespoke and holistic advice and support service for clients who are accessing Worcester Foodbank.Thereby avoiding situations which might lead to ongoing reliance on the foodbank.
The mission of Worcester Foodbank is to end hunger and food poverty in our city
The post will help alleviate financial difficulty for clients:
- In receipt of emergency food
- Seeking access to emergency food
- Identified as facing destitution
The service will be targeted at those more vulnerable clients who need supported advice and casework.Referrals will be prioritised from within the CA clients seeking foodbank vouchers and referrals in from the Worcester Foodbank team.
To provide support and advice up to generalist casework level and specifically provide income maximisation, benefits, debt and housing advice and related matters with the provision of a level of ongoing support.
In addition, to provide advice, information and support to improve the money management skills and financial capability of foodbank clients.
Location: Office base to be at CA Worcester (and Worcester foodbank when premises allow). Occasional home visits and outreach may be required at times.
