Role Overview

Senior building control officer responsible for maintaining own caseload of applications for Building Regulations approval, including complex projects within your registration class. Assist supervising Class 1 RBI's and support the Head of Building Control. Manage relationships between the Council and developers, providing an efficient and effective building control service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain caseload of Building Regulations applications, including complex projects.
  • Assist supervising Class 1 RBI's.
  • Support the Head of Building Control.
  • Manage relationships between the Council and developers on a range of development proposals.
  • Represent the service on a wide range of projects.

What We’re Looking For

  • Registered at Class 2a, b & d with the regulator.
  • Desirable to be fully qualified with RICS, CABE or equivalent.
  • Strong team leadership track record.
  • Holding a driving licence and ability to use a car for business, or be fully mobile with access to transport.
  • Ability to undertake site visits across urban and rural parts of South Worcestershire, including climbing ladders/operating in confined spaces.
  • Commitment to customer care.
  • Full range of experience within the construction industry.
  • Well organised and able to handle a variety of tasks at any time.
  • Positive response to change and a drive to improve ways of working.
