Place Projects Officer – Pershore & Broadway

We are currently looking for an experienced and driven individual to become the Place Projects Officer covering Pershore and Broadway. You will have responsibility for promoting economic growth in the town and its surrounding areas under the supervision and coordination of the Place Projects Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the council's day‑to‑day project work on multiple physical development projects as well as tourism, marketing and events relevant to the area of responsibility.
  • Develop and support the Pershore Place Board and work with its chair and members to implement the annual action plan which prioritises projects relevant to the town and its economy.
  • Co‑operate with the joint senior management team, the shared Chief Executive and partner council to deliver a wide range of good value services and partnership arrangements.
  • Coordinate joint activities and ensure alignment of projects across the two councils.

Qualifications

  • Relevant experience in an Economic Development, Tourism and/or Marketing role, ideally within local government.
  • Proven experience of partnership working and delivering joint projects.
  • Understanding and sensitivity to community leadership issues and a willingness to participate and lead on partnership/community initiatives on behalf of the Council.
  • Demonstrable leadership skills and experience of managing relationships with stakeholders and diverse, potentially conflicting interests.
  • Ability to develop and motivate a diverse group of stakeholders and a diverse range of projects.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to liaise with colleagues, members, staff and customers.

Travel and Working Conditions

This role requires you to travel around the district to areas where public transport is limited. A full clean driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential, or access to private travel arrangements. The position is office‑based with some agile working.
