Fixed term contract - Placement from August 2025 for 12 months, 37 hours per week.
We are looking for an undergraduate student to assist in the effective delivery of the Council’s Tourism and Economic Development service. In particular, the role will involve supporting on the implementation of tourism opportunities and event production. This is an exciting and varied role providing a great experience to support a degree qualification. You will be championing the district as a tourism destination for day visits and short breaks, and you will support with the preparation, marketing and distribution of the District’s promotional literature. There will also be the opportunity to network with partner organisations to maximise Wychavon’s opportunities to maintain and enhance the local economy, through business investment and visitor spending. This is a student placement opportunity for students undertaking an undergraduate degree course with a gap year for placement. Placement to commence August 2025.
About you
- The successful candidate will be undergraduates and looking for a work placement as part of their sandwich degree course.
- Have a minimum of two ‘A’ levels or equivalent.
- Be a confident communicator, passionate in digital marketing, events and tourism.
- Be flexible to attend events at weekends and Bank Holidays. There will be evening work at times also.
- Have experience of community groups and clubs, event management, and be IT literate.
- Need to hold an in-date full driving licence and have use of a car for business purposes.
