This post provides a great opportunity to join the Economic Development team within Malvern Hills District Council. We are looking for someone who will make a real difference to our town centres and will help us to implement our Town Centre plans and town centre initiatives. These initiatives are key in supporting our local businesses and this role will be working to encourage people to visit and spend their money locally to help the town centres and traders survive and ultimately thrive.

As the principal town centre contact for the Council you will be at the forefront of developing and supporting the towns within the district and you will be working with businesses and key stakeholders from Great Malvern, Barnards Green, Malvern Link inc. Link Top, Tenbury Wells and Upton upon Severn.

About you

  • At least 2 years principal local government or equivalent experience in a relevant function e.g. Town centre management, economic development, etc.
  • Proven experience of relevant partnership working and delivering joint projects.
  • Demonstrable leadership skills and experience of managing relationships with stakeholders with diverse and potentially conflicting interests.
  • Track record of contributing strategically to organisations’ performance.
  • Involvement with Elected Members at a local level.
  • Organising or running public events.
