College Guardians was founded in 2010 to provide guardianship services to overseas students attending boarding school, college and universities in the UK. We are accredited through AEGIS (The Association for the Education and Guardianship of International Students) and our services include the provision of a number of guardianship packages to parents, sourcing and managing homestay families, attending parent meetings and providing advice and guidance to our students and their parents. We are looking to appoint a part-time Student Support Assistant – Japanese Speaker. This is a Worcester based role with the possibility of some UK travel. The hours of work will average 8 hours a week throughout the year, predominantly during School term time. However, due to the nature of the role, there may be more hours worked one week and fewer another.

What you'll be doing:

  • Assisting with the translation, and help to develop marketing material
  • Liaising and developing relationships with Japanese agents
  • Communicating with parents, school and college staff
  • Visiting students at schools, colleges and universities where necessary

You'll have:

  • Good general education and ability to communicate fluently in both written and spoken Japanese
  • Experience in an administrative and customer facing role
  • Experience of working/interacting with children and young adults
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively and respond to situations in a timely manner
  • An understanding of the UK boarding school system
  • Ability to plan and schedule your own workload and work remotely/on your own initiative
  • Highly flexible approach to working hours as the role will require unsociable hours including evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
