Location: The Downs Malvern
We are looking to appoint a Cleaning and Laundry Assistant as part of the Domestic Operations team. This part‑time role is based in The Downs and may involve occasional work at Malvern College.
Responsibilities
- You will support the delivery of high standards of service across The Downs by maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in classrooms, offices, boarding houses, bedrooms and our Sports Complex.
- Tasks include end‑of‑term cleans, summer lets, pre‑season cleans and resetting houses for the start of the academic year.
- You will work as part of a team and independently as required.
Hours of Work
- 20 hours, 52 weeks a year
- 06:00 am start time
- 5 days over 7 – flexibility required, including occasional weekend working
Requirements
- A can‑do attitude and ability to understand instructions and complete work within the required timeframe, independently or in a team
- Awareness of health and safety procedures
- Polite, friendly and professional conduct
- Punctual with good time‑management skills and a flexible approach to working hours
This post involves minimal contact with children and the holder will not be responsible for children. The post holder will be considered to be in regulated activity. Candidate must be prepared to undergo child protection screening and an Enhanced DBS check. Proof of identity, right to work in the UK and qualifications must be provided during the selection process. References will be sought for shortlisted candidates, including questions about past disciplinary actions or allegations in relation to behaviour with children.
