Help us to transform the way the industry is approaching financial crime prevention – and play a part of building a growing business at the same time! At Malverde, we help financial institutions to be better at preventing and detecting financial crime by getting into the detail of financial crime typologies and taking a hands‑on approach to implementing technology. We’re growing fast and looking for Financial Crime Technology Senior Consultants who already know the landscape — and want more ownership, variety, and impact than a big consultancy can offer.
This role is ideal if you’re experienced in business analysis, comfortable in client conversations, and excited by the idea of shaping both solutions and a growing business.
What you’ll be doing
- You’ll work hands‑on with FinTechs, challenger banks, payments firms, and broader financial institutions to design, implement, and improve financial crime and fraud technology. That means:
- Optimising transaction monitoring, screening, and fraud detection solutions
- Reviewing client processes and technology, identifying gaps, and turning insight into action
- Partnering closely with client stakeholders to understand their goals and collaboratively deliver successful outcomes
- Working alongside Malverde subject‑matter experts to select and implement the right tools and approaches
- Contributing to proposals, client pitches, and proposition development as we grow
- Playing a genuine role in shaping the future of Malverde — not just delivering projects, but helping build a business
Who We’re Looking For
You’re not looking for a comfortable role — you’re looking for responsibility.
- Picks things up quickly and enjoys learning new tools, sectors, or approaches
- Is proactive, motivated to get things done, and comfortable taking ownership
- Enjoys collaborating with others (and having fun while doing it)
What you’ll bring
- Strong business analysis skills and the ability to clearly communicate findings to different audiences
- Solid consulting skills: comfortable presenting, writing, and explaining complex topics simply
- Practical experience with financial crime and fraud technology such as customer and payment screening
- Good working knowledge of relevant regulations (e.g. FCA Handbook, JMLSG, FATF, MLRs, PSRs)
- A degree (2:1 or above)
- 3+ years’ experience in a financial crime role — consultancy, financial institution, or vendor-side
- Right to work in the UK – we are not currently sponsoring visas
Nice to have
- Hands‑on experience with fraud technology, particularly payment fraud
- Knowledge of fraud typologies such as Authorised Push Payment (APP) fraud
- Data skills — working with data feeds, Excel, SQL, or visualisation tools
The chance to join an early‑stage startup consultancy based in Shoreditch, London. Real autonomy, visibility, and the opportunity to accelerate your career. Performance‑related share in company profits. Free office drinks and snacks. 25 days’ annual leave, with the option to buy more. Hybrid working — home, office, or client site, with flexibility and trust.
We’re a specialist consultancy focused exclusively on financial crime and fraud — and on doing things better than the big firms. That means hiring genuinely talented people, avoiding unnecessary bureaucracy, and giving our clients (and our team) real value for their time and investment. We work collaboratively, support each other’s development, and believe building a great business should be just as rewarding as delivering great client work.
