Description:
The ideal candidate will be degree qualified or hold an HND/HNC. You should have analogue circuit design capabilities, including designing, developing, repairing, assembling, and testing at the component level, with experience in electronic test equipment and measurement techniques.
You will play a key role in designing and developing medical electronic products from initial concept to final production. Responsibilities include supporting, designing, repairing, testing, and calibrating existing products. You will utilize your skills to design digital and analogue circuitry, using RF methods, PCB and schematic capture. A keen interest in applied life sciences and biomedical engineering would be highly beneficial.
Responsibilities include:
- Designing digital and analogue circuitry, including RF methods, PCB, and schematic capture.
- Producing bill of materials (BOM).
- Designing microprocessor-controlled electronic circuitry.
- Designing communication interfaces and power supplies.
- Designing instruments with intensive computational demands.
- Testing and fault-finding at the board level.
- Using Altium PCB layout software for schematic capture and PCB design.
- Programming in C++ and other relevant software development tasks.
- Algorithm development, real-time data analysis, and display.
- Experience in digital image processing software development is desirable.
- Developing MATLAB software for 3D image reconstruction.
- Software programming and development in a Windows environment.

- Ability to work under pressure.
Additional responsibilities include supporting the design and development process to ensure future product availability, ensuring product design is suitable for manufacturing and service, managing technical literature and design change requests, supervising critical design aspects for robustness and regulatory compliance, and introducing cost reduction initiatives to improve quality and reliability.
