ECTs warmly welcomed.
We’re looking for a dedicated Teacher of Maths to join our warm, supportive team at Winton Community Academy from September 2025.
This is a fantastic role for a newly qualified or more experienced Maths teacher, as we can offer mentorship (or the opportunity to mentor) and a world-class induction programme, delivered through our trust network (Lift Schools) via Ambition Institute. Your ECT programme is tailored to your specific needs and skills and you will benefit from our friendly, kind and experienced team who are able to lead by example.
For more experienced colleagues, we can offer you potential leadership opportunities, and/or the chance to mentor PGCE/ITT students, for those who are interested. Through our trust network, we can offer you the possibility to gain your National Professional qualifications at either middle leadership or senior leadership level.
Our Mathematics department is an ambitious, rapidly improving department, with a positive Progress 8 score (having improved by 0.3 over the past 3 years) and our 4+ GCSE results last year came out at 69%. We have a well-resourced curriculum, teaching OCR Foundation and Edexcel for Higher Maths, but the Head of Department is open, supportive and always eager to consider new, improved methods of teaching. The department works collaboratively, making the most of their protected co-planning time.
Outside of school hours, many of the department enjoy regularly playing sports together and they have frequent team socials. We strongly believe in a healthy work-life balance so there is a streamlined approach to marking and assessment, which runs alongside digital tools to reduce teacher workload. Mathematics is a popular subject at Winton and our students love to get involved in field trips and extra-curricular activities. The team is vibrant, energetic and fun and loves to share ideas and work together to make every day interesting and rewarding.
This is an opportunity to make a tangible impact on the lives of young people.
