We are seeking a friendly and reliable chef to join our growing team within a coffee shop in Stone Cross, near Eastbourne. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing food and maintaining a clean and organised kitchen. We are looking for a self-motivated and detail-oriented individual who is passionate about food and has previous experience in a kitchen.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook a range of simple food items such as breakfasts, sandwiches, and baked goods; baking knowledge would be ideal but we can train the right candidate.
- Clean and sanitise workspaces, utensils, and equipment before and after use to meet health and safety regulations.
- Assist in the receiving and storing of food and supplies to maintain inventory levels.
- Ensure the kitchen remains organised and well-stocked by checking stock levels of ingredients and supplies, and notifying the manager of any discrepancies.
- Follow recipes and cooking processes as per company guidelines.
- Work collaboratively with other staff to ensure timely execution of food service.
- Follow recipes and portion sizes accurately to maintain consistency in food quality.
- Ensure the premises is fully compliant with food hygiene standards.
- Properly label and store food items to minimise waste and ensure freshness.
- Able to work in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude at all times while adhering to company policies and standards.
- Willingness to cross-train in all areas of the business including front of house.
