The Governors and Leaders at Maltby Lilly Hall Academy are seeking to appoint a highly organised and committed individual to support and promote pupil progress and welfare. The successful candidate will be based in our new Early Years Centre, a state‑of‑the‑art facility opened in September 2025. Maltby Lilly Hall Academy is a highly effective school with a strong community reputation. The school is ambitious and highly aspirational for both its pupils and its staff. The Academy is part of the ‘Maltby Learning Trust’, a successful and highly collaborative partnership of local schools committed to raising the educational ambitions of the community in which it sits.
Responsibilities:
- Work under the guidance of teaching staff and senior Early Years practitioners to support the care and education of young children.
- Contribute to play‑based learning experiences and care routines that promote children’s development, independence, and well‑being.
- Support individual and small group activities both indoors and outdoors, helping children to access and engage in the Early Years curriculum.
- Build positive relationships with children, acting as a caring role model and responding to individual needs.
- Work with all staff to create and maintain a safe, stimulating and nurturing learning environment.
- Use specialist (curricular/learning) skills, training or experience to support children.
- Prepare and tidy the classroom and resources for daily activities, and assist with displays of children’s work, working within a team.
- Support children’s personal care needs, including hygiene, toileting, mealtimes, first aid and overall wellbeing.
- Support the movement and handling of students with disabilities around the Early Years Centre.
- Provide one‑to‑one and small group support, including delivery of planned learning and play activities; participate in the delivery of specific interventions to small groups of targeted students.
- Supervise and support children to ensure their safety, engagement and access to learning both indoors and outdoors.
- Promote positive behaviour and social skills in line with Academy policies.
- Observe, record and report on children’s progress, achievements and any concerns to the class teacher.
- Prepare and maintain resources and equipment as required.
- Work in partnership with both the team, parents and carers, sharing information as directed.
- Take part in training, staff meetings and performance development as required.
- Build and maintain effective professional relationships with relevant external stakeholders and service user groups.
