About the role

We are looking for a Senior Engineering Manager to lead the Compliance strategy for our product engineering team. In this role, you will oversee delivery, performance, and people management for our Compliance squads, composed of 8‑15 engineers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and inspire a high‑performing team, directly managing 2‑3 cross‑functional squads and fostering a high‑trust environment.
  • Co‑build product and technical strategy with the Product Director and Design Lead, translating regulatory requirements into a seamless user experience.
  • Own the delivery lifecycle by setting and tracking KPIs for velocity and quality, balancing rapid delivery with long‑term architectural health.
  • Contribute to the Engineering Manager Guild, scaling best practices and strategic frameworks across the organization.
  • Serve as the primary technical point of contact for external partners (PSPs, legal data providers, etc.), ensuring smooth integration and long‑term scalability.

About You

  • Hands‑on manager with a strong backend foundation (Java/Kotlin preferred) who mentors through code reviews and architecture discussions.
  • Systems thinker who excels in fast‑paced, evolving environments and can manage technical migrations or structural shifts without losing focus.
  • Experienced in scaling compliance or fintech systems, navigating high‑security constraints, and maintaining performance.
  • Strategic risk manager comfortable at the intersection of technology and regulation, making high‑impact decisions that protect the business while enabling growth.
  • Impactful communicator fluent in English (French is a bonus), able to distill complex technical or AI concepts into clear, actionable insights for stakeholders at all levels.
  • Committed to staying current on emerging tech, especially AI, and eager to explore how it can help your team deliver faster and more value.
