As Head of Payment, reporting directly to the Chief Product Officer, you will own and scale the financial infrastructure powering Malt at a global level. Operating at the crossroad of Product, Tech, Legal and Finance, your mission is to unlock international growth while optimizing our unique payment model to offer a seamless experience to our Community & Clients. This is a sophisticated scaling challenge: managing complex B2B liquidity flows while ensuring the user experience remains effortless. We are looking for an ambitious, collaborative leader who views complex payment systems as a primary driver of strategic business growth.

Key responsibilities:

  • Define and execute the vision for Malt's payment architecture and 3rd parties dependencies, introducing geographic scale and enabling commercial expansion to support the growth of new business lines.
  • Act as the primary bridge combining Finance, Legal and Tech teams to build a great transactional experience for all sides of the marketplace, with a scalable operational model and the appropriate integration with Finance tools and processes.
  • Own product benchmarking and exploration of payment methods, new PSPs assessment.
  • Drive the strategy and roadmap to facilitate seamless multi-currency, cross-border marketplace transactions while scaling enterprise billing integrations globally.
  • Transform our cash advance model and factoring partner setups to limit transaction risk at the source.
  • Collaborate with Treasury and Financing Operations to protect working capital while expanding our core freelance financing value proposition.
  • Serve as the functional referent for international payment compliance, Anti-Money Laundering (AML) standards, and localized marketplace regulations across all active regions.

About you:

  • Experience: 10+ years of progressive tech/product leadership directly within a platform or B2B marketplace environment, specializing in fintech, core payment infrastructures, or global treasury networks.
  • Technical Expertise: Proven mastery of payment service providers (PSPs), international banking networks, cross-border escrow structures, factoring financial mechanics, and data analytics tools (e.g., Looker). Track record of exercising a built / buy / partner muscle for critical infrastructure.
  • Business Acumen: Deep understanding of enterprise B2B sales cycles, procurement/P2P workflows, and marketplace unit economics, with the ability to translate cost optimizations into strategic product features.
  • Leadership & Mindset: Strong cross-functional influencer—curious, intellectually agile, and an excellent communicator. You thrive in ambiguity, can translate complexity into clear product decisions, and bring conviction.

How to join the mission?

  • First call with Alexandre, our Talent Acquisition Manager, to better understand your background, aspirations and answer any questions you may have. (30-45 minutes)
  • Interview with your future manager, Sebastien to delve into your experience and the specifics of the role. (60 minutes)
  • Home preparation followed by a deep discussion on different product subjects to assess your technical skills.
  • Final interview with the CFO of the company to discuss partnership and Malt’s long-term vision.

Malt is the perfect space to thrive personally and professionally:

  • Onboarding: Before easing into your new role, you’ll spend your first week learning about our culture, products, and services with other new joiners at our office in Paris.
  • Equity: Every Malter is entitled to stock options.
  • Malt sabbatical: Every three years, all Malters are entitled to a one month fully paid sabbatical leave.
  • Free books: If you’re interested in learning more about any topic relevant to Malt’s business, just tell us the books you’d like to read, and we’ll order them for you—without any questions asked or approval processes to follow.
