Housed in a former prison, the rooms in the hotel are rather more spacious than your average jail cell. Just 5 minutes from most of the city’s main attractions, this is without a doubt one of the most unique and thrilling hotels in the country. Home to Britain’s oldest university and the City of Dreaming Spires, Oxford is a city rich with history and character. A visit to Oxford, which dates back to Saxon times, is a trip into the brains of a nation. Tour the hallowed halls of the university and follow in the footsteps of Prime Ministers, poets and the one and only Harry Potter. Take a tour of the Bodleian Library – which will be familiar to fans as Hogwarts, the Ashmolean Museum of Art & Archaeology – the first purpose‑built museum in England, which opened in 1683. Or wonder at the anthropology collections at the incredible Pitt Rivers Museum. To the east, you’ll find the wooded wonderland of The Chilterns and to the west lies the idyllic Cotswold’s.
