Overview
Night Porter at Hotel du Vin Birmingham
Location: Birmingham city centre. The landmark Victorian building (1884) offers 66 bedrooms, a 59-seater Bistro and 4 private event spaces seating up to 100 guests. The property is close to the Jewellery Quarter and Broad Street, with excellent links for regional and international travellers.
About The Role
The Night Porter is instrumental in overseeing the running of the hotel from sundown to sunrise. This is a hands-on role managing guest expectations and ensuring the standards of the brand are maintained. You will be responsible for the Food & Beverage department during the night, welcome guests in a friendly and helpful manner, and ensure that public areas are kept immaculate. You will clean public areas and prepare meeting and event spaces for the next day.
You will be assisting guests with their luggage, handling enquiries, and carrying out nightly Health and Safety audits. You should be organized and an excellent communicator.
Responsibilities
- Oversee hotel operations during night hours and maintain brand standards.
- Welcome and assist guests, manage luggage and guest enquiries.
- Clean public areas and prepare meeting and event spaces for the following day.
- Assist with Food & Beverage operations at night as required.
- Carry out nightly Health and Safety audits and report issues.
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience in a similar role is beneficial and experience of night shift work is essential.
Work Pattern & Benefits
We are open 7 days a week, 365 days a year. You may work a range of shifts and days with flexible arrangements discussed at interview. Shifts are busier in the evenings and on weekends.
