About the Hotel

Opened May 2020, the hotel features 150 bedrooms, a 124-seater Bar & Grill, a private dining room, and a 200-seater rooftop bar & terrace. It offers Pan-Asian fusion tapas & cocktails, a Starbucks with an outdoor terrace, 4 meeting rooms, and 6 meeting pods, with the largest space seating 180. The hotel includes a TechnoGym with a selection of cardio, fixed resistance, free weights & functional equipment, and a spa with 4 treatment rooms, a relaxation area, and 2 manicure & 2 pedicure stations.

The design of the hotel takes inspiration from the city’s industrial heritage and brutalist architecture, mixing concrete and moody elements with softer textures and confectionery touch points, drawing on York’s famous alumni including the Rowntree and the Terry families. Situated on the corner of Rougier Street, the hotel is close to some of the city’s most famous attractions, including York Minster, York Castle, and the historic city walls.

About the Role – Bartender

As Bartender, you’ll be the welcoming face of our Sora Sky Bar & Restaurant. You’ll play a key part in delivering great service. If you know your way around a bar, can tell your Pinot from your Chardonnay, and can shake a mean martini, this is the job for you. Malmaison offers something different to the usual hotel bar, and our guests expect a high standard of banter, knowledge, and entertainment when grabbing a drink.

We’re typically busiest in the evenings and at weekends; we’ll discuss your contract and availability at interview.
