The Malloy Aeronautics Team: Malloy Aeronautics Limited specializes in the development of heavy lift unmanned air vehicles (UAVs) for both civilian and military uses. Located in Berkshire, our operations are notable for their focus on in-house design and manufacturing. This vertical integration means we control the production of most aircraft components on-site, enhancing our ability to innovate and maintain high standards across all stages of development.

About The Role: Malloy Aeronautics is looking for a manual machinist to support continued company growth via our small machine shop. We are looking for a motivated and skilled Machinist to join our team.

Ability to hold Security Clearance – 5 years residence in the UK

What you’ll be doing:

  • Milling / turning operations to produce a variety of components, jigs, fixtures etc.
  • Working closely with designers / other engineers to share knowledge and feedback.
  • Interpret engineering drawings such that machined parts meet required specifications, tolerances, and quality standards.
  • Prioritize and schedule work according to deadlines, ensuring effective use of machine time and sensible workflow.

Essential Skills and Experiences:

  • Proven experience in metal-cutting, including manual milling and turning.
  • Good working knowledge of materials, tools, and machining processes.
  • Knowledge of health and safety protocols in a machining environment.
  • Self-motivated and reliable, with the ability to manage time and schedules effectively.

Desired Skills and Experiences:

  • Setting or programming CNC machinery.
  • On or Offline toolpath creation (Heidenhain / OneCNC or similar software.)
  • Experience of MiG / TiG welding.
  • Experience of contributing to process or workflow improvements.
