Role Overview
We are establishing a centralised Digital Hub to support smaller entities with IT and Cyber leadership aligned to defence-sector and UK Government requirements. This role spans strategic, operational, and technical domains across Digital, Data, and Cyber.
- Pivot between strategy and hands-on delivery
- Build relationships across organisations, customers, and suppliers
- Oversee IT providers (secure, compliant, aligned solutions)
- Influence outcomes through relationship and delivery management
- Challenge suppliers and validate technical decisions
Key Responsibilities
Operational & Technical Oversight
- Oversee Azure, cloud governance, monitoring, and security
- Manage infrastructure and networks across classified environments
- Coordinate incidents, escalation, and root cause actions
- Manage lifecycle, obsolescence, and system modernisation
Strategic Leadership & Planning
- Define digital, cloud, and cyber strategies and roadmaps
- Ensure governance and compliance (including NIST)
- Oversee security posture and improvement priorities
Stakeholder & Supplier Management
- Build relationships and communicate complex issues clearly
- Act as link between leadership, suppliers, and technical teams
- Hold providers accountable for delivery and compliance
Delivery & Team Leadership
- Lead and mentor IT & Cyber team
- Oversee service performance (SLAs, KPIs, change)
- Manage budgets, procurement, and vendor relationships
Qualifications & Experience
Essential
- 7+ years in IT across cloud, infrastructure, and cyber
- Strong Azure and enterprise technology knowledge
- Experience with outsourced providers and secure environments
- Leadership and vendor management experience
Skills
- Strong communication and stakeholder management
- Influencing and decision-making ability
- Technical understanding of cloud governance and security
- Ability to translate technical into business outcomes
Desirable
- Azure certifications or similar
- CISSP, CISM, TOGAF, ITIL, PMP
- Relevant degree
- ICS/SCADA experience
