The Malloy Aeronautics Team: Malloy Aeronautics Limited specializes in the development of heavy lift unmanned air vehicles (UAVs) for both civilian and military uses. Located in Berkshire, our operations are notable for their focus on in-house design and manufacturing. This vertical integration means we control the production of most aircraft components on-site, enhancing our ability to innovate and maintain high standards across all stages of development.

Ability to hold Security Clearance – 5 years residence in the UK

What you’ll be doing (but not limited to):

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a supply chain department made up of a procurement team, warehousing team and shipping team to drive strategic purchasing, on time delivery and clear organisation through the factory of all components required for manufacturing and research and development activities.
  • Own the end-to-end supply chain across raw materials, packaging, production, warehousing, and distribution.
  • Oversee task allocation, provide training, and monitor the progress of the supply chain functions.
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies to enhance cost efficiency, quality, and operational effectiveness.
  • Establish purchasing schedules and stock management plans to prevent stockouts and maintain optimal inventory levels for seamless manufacturing operations.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives, ensuring materials are sourced within budget and aligned with production schedules.
  • Onboard new and develop existing supplier relationships to mitigate risk, enhancing supply chain resilience to reduce dependency on sources and ensure business continuity.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams such as Project Management, Production, Engineering, Commercial, and Finance to align purchasing with business objectives.
  • Manage supplier relationships to secure competitive pricing and high-quality components, serving as the key liaison for purchasing, distribution and supply chain matters.
  • Lead and support Senior Business Reviews with strategic suppliers, including occasional travel to supplier sites as needed.
  • Provide regular weekly reports to the Senior Leadership Team.

Additional Accountabilities:

  • To lead and elevate Malloy supply chain operations.
  • You will be responsible for developing and executing our procurement, warehousing and logistics strategy to ensure the seamless flow of materials that keeps our production lines moving.
  • You’ll lead a dedicated supply chain team, ensuring timely delivery of all materials to support uninterrupted manufacturing of Malloy products.
  • Collaborating closely with Engineering and Production, you will ensure purchasing is efficient and deliveries are well-coordinated - enabling our factory to operate at peak performance.
  • You will understand and develop existing methods for managing and optimising the current supply chain solutions.

  • Detailed understanding and evidenced experience of supplier risk and opportunity management.
  • Ability to create relationships and work collaboratively to achieve a common business goal with internal and external stakeholders.

Desired Skills and Experiences:

  • Previous experience of managing strategic Supplier relationships.
  • Knowledge of and experience in export control environments such as EAR, SIELs and OGELs.
  • Previous experience of setting out supply chain strategies which focus on short-, medium- and long-term supply chain ambitions.
  • Working understanding of tool sets and IT such as ERP systems (SAP preferred), Microsoft Office programs particularly Excel.
  • Experience of a manufacturing environment and previous exposure to the full component life cycle from purchase request to customer shipment.
  • Ability to compile data, analyse and propose recommendations through reports and presentations.
  • Experience of behavioural and performance management of multiple employees.

Qualifications:

  • You will have or be working towards MCIPS or have a similar professional qualification OR hold a degree in a business-related subject (e.g. Economics, Business, Finance) - preferred.
