Malloy Aeronautics Limited specializes in the development of heavy lift unmanned air vehicles (UAVs) for both civilian and military uses. Located in Berkshire, our operations are notable for their focus on in-house design and manufacturing. This vertical integration means we control the production of most aircraft components on-site, enhancing our ability to innovate and maintain high standards across all stages of development.

The business is in a period of transformation having rapidly grown from an R&D SME to a high-volume production business. The finance team is small and requires additional capability to support the transformation and establishment of an appropriate financial control environment to enable business growth and support the business in making the right finance decisions whilst delivering sustainable growth for the future. This role will support the establishment of financial information to support business decision making across internal investment projects, management of stock/inventory and production metrics, there will also be a need to undertake core transactional tasks.

Ability to hold Security Clearance - 5 years residence in the UK.

What you’ll be doing (but not limited to):

  • Support the establishment of project accounting techniques across the business using a collaborative partnering approach.
  • Improve cash flow forecasting for the business, focusing on Accounts Payable.
  • Demonstrate a structured approach to work, ensure robust and effective financial controls in place, in line with Financial Control Framework and Finance Policies manual.
  • Proactively support the business establishment of a procurement function, which delivers a transformational change to the Malloy supply chain activities.
  • Improve and further develop the management decision making information on stock & inventory management.
  • Support the deployment & embedding of SAP4/HANA into the business.
  • Support the running of the in-house payroll.

Essential Skills and Experiences:

  • CIMA or ACCA, with an SME manufacturing background, with a proven track record in business partner accounting.
  • A self-starter who is proactive, has a curious mind and collaborative in approach with the business.
  • Ability to prepare both detailed and summarised information whilst adhering to deadlines.
  • Able to develop effective working relationships and be flexible in a changing environment - both Finance and non-Finance.
  • Strong communication skills both verbally and written.
  • Able to be flexible & adaptable to changing workloads and priorities across the small finance function.
  • Experience in dealing with external and internal audit as required.

Desired Skills and Experiences:

  • Experience in running in-house payroll.
  • Experience in using SAP4/HANA.
