Key Responsibilities in Housing Disrepair Law
  • Independently manage a caseload of housing disrepair claims from initial instruction through from start to finish, ensuring effective and proactive case progression.
  • Draft and review legal documents, letters of claim, witness statements, and settlement proposals in line with CPR protocols and legislative requirements.
  • Conduct comprehensive case assessments, identifying opportunities for successful resolution and advocating for clients’ interests at every stage.
  • Liaise directly with clients, landlords, housing associations, expert witnesses, surveyors, and other stakeholders, providing clear guidance and regular updates.
  • Obtain and evaluate expert reports and ensure all evidence is gathered and presented accurately for negotiations and court proceedings.
  • Represent clients at court hearings, mediations and settlement meetings, or instruct counsel where appropriate.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, internal quality standards, and industry protocols including SRA, GDPR, and anti-money laundering obligations.
  • Maintain thorough and up-to-date case files, participate in regular team meetings, and contribute to ongoing process improvements.
