Key Responsibilities in Residential Conveyancing- Manage a varied caseload of residential property transactions from instruction to completion, including freehold and leasehold sales and purchases, remortgages, transfers of equity.
- Draft, review and negotiate contracts, transfer deeds, completion statements, and other legal documentation in line with best practice and regulatory requirements.
- Liaise professionally with clients, estate agents, lenders, brokers, and solicitors to progress transactions and provide accurate updates throughout the conveyancing process.
- Carry out searches, review titles, raise and respond to enquiries, and ensure all due diligence and compliance needs are met in accordance with CQS, SRA, AML, and GDPR guidelines.
- Oversee post-completion formalities, including SDLT returns, Land Registry applications, and discharge of mortgages.
- Identify potential risks, resolve issues pragmatically, and maintain a client-focused approach at all times, offering clear and effective advice.
- Maintain accurate case records using the firm’s case management system, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with legal standards.
- Contribute positively to the conveyancing department by supporting colleagues, sharing technical knowledge, and participating in team training initiatives.
- Proven experience as a residential conveyancer, licensed conveyancer, solicitor, or legal executive handling a full conveyancing caseload independently.
- In-depth understanding of residential property law, conveyancing procedures, and regulatory requirements, including freehold and leasehold matters.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills, with ability to manage multiple matters efficiently and meet strict deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a professional and empathetic approach to client care.
- High attention to detail, analytical thinking, and effective problem-solving abilities.
- Confident IT skills and experience using legal case management software, digital document management, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Adaptable, collaborative, and proactive approach, with a commitment to ongoing professional development in property law.
