Key Responsibilities for a Residential Property Solicitor in Conveyancing and Client Care:
- Manage a varied caseload of residential property matters, including freehold and leasehold sales, purchases, remortgages, new builds, and transfers of equity.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, transfer deeds, mortgage documentation, and all other property-related legal documents.
- Provide expert legal advice to clients throughout the conveyancing process, from initial instruction to post-completion, maintaining clear, timely, and empathetic communication.
- Conduct title checks, property searches, and due diligence to ensure legal compliance and mitigate risk for clients.
- Liaise confidently and professionally with clients, estate agents, mortgage providers, solicitors, and other stakeholders.
- Ensure all transactions adhere to relevant SRA, AML, CQS, and GDPR regulations and firm procedures.
- Work collaboratively with conveyancers, assistants, and other fee earners to deliver an efficient and high-quality property service.
- Maintain accurate records, case files, and documentation in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and participate actively in team meetings and ongoing training.
Essential Skills and Experience for Residential Property Solicitors:
- Qualified Solicitor in England and Wales with a valid practising certificate.
- Demonstrable experience managing a caseload of residential property files from inception to completion.
- Sound knowledge of conveyancing law, property transactions, Land Registry applications, and lender requirements.
