We are working with a known firm specialising in property and commercial services, who have been growing well for many years. They have particularly grown residential and commercial departments successfully over the last half decade and boast a wide range of client bases across a number of sectors. The Residential Property department is one of the most established conveyancing/property teams in the area and offer genuine opportunities for the long term.
They seek to recruit a Residential Property Solicitor, with minimum 5 years PQE supporting on a wide range of property matters. This is a fantastic opportunity to further your career. Hybrid working 2/3 days in office, salary £55,000 - £60,000, permanent role, full time hours.
Key Responsibilities:- Independently handle a varied caseload of residential property transactions, including freehold and leasehold sales and purchases, re-mortgages, new builds, shared ownership, and transfers of equity.
- Draft and negotiate contracts, transfer documents, and other legal paperwork, ensuring accuracy and legal compliance at all stages.
- Undertake comprehensive due diligence on property titles, searches, and information provided by clients and third parties to minimise risk and resolve any issues swiftly.
- Effectively liaise with clients, estate agents, mortgage lenders, solicitors, and additional professionals, maintaining clear communication throughout the property transaction process.
- Oversee the full transaction process, including exchange, completion, and all post-completion formalities such as SDLT submissions and Land Registry filings.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements including SRA rules, CQS standards, and Anti-Money Laundering protocols to uphold the firm’s excellent reputation for client care and compliance.
- Contribute to team development by supporting junior colleagues, sharing knowledge, and participating in training sessions and firm initiatives.
- Qualified solicitor (min 5 years PQE) with demonstrable experience managing residential property caseloads independently from instruction to completion.
- Comprehensive understanding of residential conveyancing law, Land Registry procedures, and compliance processes within a regulated legal environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to deliver clear updates and professional advice to a diverse range of clients and stakeholders.
- Highly organised and adaptable approach, capable of managing multiple transactions efficiently to tight deadlines.
- Meticulous attention to detail, ensuring quality and accuracy in all legal documentation and processes.
- Experience using legal case management software and proficient with Microsoft Office or equivalent applications.
- Enthusiastic about ongoing professional development and knowledge sharing within the property law team.
- Experience with new build and shared ownership transactions is advantageous.
