Residential Property Lawyer in Aylesbury

We are seeking an experienced Residential Property Lawyer to provide high-quality legal advice and support on a broad range of residential property transactions. The successful candidate will manage matters from initial instruction through to completion, working closely with clients, estate agents, lenders, other solicitors and external contacts to deliver an efficient and professional service.

The role would suit a technically strong and client-focused residential property lawyer with excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills. The successful candidate will handle sales, purchases, remortgages, transfers of equity and other residential conveyancing matters while maintaining high standards of client care, compliance and file management.

Key responsibilities:

• Manage a caseload of residential property matters from initial instruction through to completion and post-completion.

• Handle freehold and leasehold sales and purchases, remortgages, transfers of equity, new-build transactions and other residential conveyancing matters as required.

• Raise and respond to pre-contract enquiries, identifying title issues, restrictions, covenants, rights, easements and other matters affecting the property.

• Draft, approve, negotiate and exchange contracts in accordance with client instructions and applicable legal requirements.

• Carry out or coordinate exchange of contracts and completion, ensuring all conditions and undertakings are satisfied within the required timescales.

• Deal with leasehold matters, including reviewing leases, service charge information, management packs, notices, licences and landlord or managing agent requirements.

• Act for clients with mortgage and remortgage requirements, liaising with lenders, brokers and their representatives and complying with lender instructions.

• Keep clients, estate agents, lenders and other interested parties informed of progress, key dates, outstanding information and anticipated completion timescales.

• Identify and manage risks, escalating complex legal, title, financial or compliance issues where appropriate.

Key skills and experience:

• Qualified solicitor, licensed conveyancer or Legal Executive with demonstrable residential property experience.

• Strong knowledge of residential conveyancing procedures, including freehold and leasehold transactions, sales, purchases, remortgages, new build and transfers of equity

• Experience managing a caseload independently and progressing matters efficiently from instruction to completion.

• Strong understanding of property title, searches, contracts, enquiries, leasehold issues, exchange, completion and Land Registry procedures.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain legal matters clearly to clients and other stakeholders.

• Strong client care skills and a professional, approachable and solutions-focused manner.
