Job Description

Sales & Marketing Director – PE-backed growth

We have been retained by a market-leading engineering surveying business to appoint a Sales & Marketing Director to lead and develop the company’s commercial function.

The business has 250+ employees across 16 offices, strong organic growth and private equity backing to support further expansion.

The business has built real momentum and a strong market position. This role is about taking that platform and building a more structured, scalable commercial engine to support the next phase of growth.

The role

Reporting to the CEO, you will take ownership of:

  • Sales leadership and team development
  • Marketing strategy and demand generation
  • Key account growth and Account-Based Marketing
  • Bid and tender performance
  • CRM, pipeline management and commercial reporting

You will spend the majority of your time leading and coaching the team, alongside supporting key opportunities and strategic accounts.

What you’ll focus on

  • Enhancing the effectiveness of an established sales team
  • Bringing greater structure and consistency to sales processes
  • Developing a more targeted, account-based approach to key clients
  • Improving visibility of the customer journey through better use of data and attribution
  • Supporting growth in higher-margin service lines

What we’re looking for

  • A commercial leader with a strong sales background
  • Experience in project-based or technical B2B services
  • Track record of building and developing high-performing teams
  • Understanding of construction, infrastructure, or the built environment
  • Comfortable operating in a data-driven, CRM-led environment
