Key Responsibilities
- Leading and supporting engineering-led improvement projects aimed at increasing manufacturing efficiency, throughput, and capacity.
- Analysing existing production processes and implementing engineering solutions aligned with the company's manufacturing systems strategy.
- Developing and standardising quality assurance procedures, specifications, and control plans to ensure repeatable, high-quality output.
- Working cross-functionally with manufacturing, quality, design, and supply chain teams to resolve complex production and quality issues.
- Identifying, justifying, and implementing process changes using data-driven and structured problem-solving methodologies.
- Driving best practice in manufacturing engineering, benchmarking both internally and externally.
- Embedding a "right-first-time" engineering culture through process control, standard work, and accountability.
- Supporting the development of an organisation-wide continuous improvement framework.
- Applying systematic problem-solving tools to address output, rework, and quality defects within manufacturing.
- Delivering hands-on coaching and training to shop floor personnel on new processes, tooling, and improvement methodologies.
- Supporting production teams with engineering input to resolve build issues, deviations, and non-conformances.
- Maintaining awareness of emerging manufacturing technologies, lean tools, and efficiency-driven engineering approaches.
- Ensuring compliance with ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems and ISO 45001 Health & Safety Management Systems.
- Operating in full compliance with company health, safety, and environmental procedures.
- Maintaining a safe, clean, and organised engineering and production environment.
Your profile:
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in Manufacturing Engineering, Continuous Improvement, or Industrial Engineering within a production environment.
- Strong working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and structured problem-solving techniques.
Technical Skills & Competencies
- In-depth understanding of manufacturing processes, fabrication, and assembly methods.
- Proven ability to analyse production data and translate findings into practical engineering improvements.
- Experience managing engineering or improvement projects from concept through implementation.
- Strong working knowledge of quality systems, process control, and standardisation.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Experience using SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD/modelling software.
