Your Job

  • Support the overall kitchen operations of the hotel, ensuring smooth day-to-day running of all food service areas.
  • Lead by example in delivering high-quality, consistent food standards across all services.
  • Support and deputise for the Head Chef, taking full responsibility for the kitchen in their absence.
  • Supervise, motivate and develop the kitchen team, ensuring standards, productivity, and morale are maintained.
  • Oversee stock control, ordering, and supplier management to ensure efficiency and minimise waste.
  • Assist in planning rotas in line with business levels, ensuring effective staffing and cost control.
  • Ensure all food safety, HACCP, and health & safety standards are fully adhered to at all times.
  • Play a key role in delivering successful meetings, events, and busy service periods.
  • Support menu development and contribute ideas to continuously improve the food offering.

What You’ll Need:

  • Previous experience in a Sous Chef or strong Senior Chef role within a hotel or high-volume environment.
  • Proven ability to lead and run a kitchen, including managing service independently.
  • Strong organisational skills, including experience with stock control, ordering, and rota planning.
  • A hands-on leadership style with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
  • Excellent knowledge of food safety, HACCP, and kitchen compliance standards.
  • A passion for quality, consistency, and delivering a great guest experience.
  • Ability to work under pressure and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Relevant culinary qualification is desirable but not essential.
