Role Overview

Maldon District Council is recruiting a Policy Planner to join the Planning Policy Team within the Place, Planning & Growth directorate. The role is full‑time and hybrid, requiring a minimum of two days in the office each week. The successful candidate will work on the new Local Plan for Maldon District, providing a unique chance to shape the future of the area.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, monitor and review planning policy across the district.
  • Conduct research and analysis to support the production of key policies and evidence bases.
  • Support consultation and public engagement activities.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure providers, neighbouring authorities and Essex County Council on strategic planning matters.
  • Assist Parish Councils with neighbourhood plans.
  • Manage Section 106 agreements and monitor compliance.
  • Produce the Authority Monitoring Report (AMR).
  • Work closely with Development Management colleagues on significant development proposals.
