We’re looking for a proactive and detail-oriented individual to join our team and support the delivery of a key organisational change project. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to continue to build on their own HR experience and bring along their learned skills to a supportive and fast-paced environment.
About this role
As we move through a significant period of transformation under Local Government Reorganisation (LGR), we are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented HR colleague to join our team. Whilst we are unclear of the roadmap of change ahead, we are going through a transformation programme internally to align the organisation to prepare. This role will support the Lead HR Specialist and colleagues to enable a successful transformation programme.
This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in supporting the delivery of organisational change, helping to shape the future of local services and support our workforce through a time of transition playing a central role in ensuring the smooth running of change programmes.
We offer flexibility and remote working, but please only apply if you\’re able to work regularly from our office. Some parts of the role will need to be done on-site, plus, we value in-person working and team meetings to stay connected and collaborate effectively.
This role provides remote and flexible working, office attendance is required for 2 or more days a week, subject to business need.
Key Responsibilities
We’re looking for an experienced HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced public sector or local government environment and holds a CIPD Level 5 qualification. You will have a proven track record of leading and managing structural change and transformation programmes, working closely with senior stakeholders, project teams, and the wider HR function to deliver change that is effective, sustainable, and people focused.
Your ability to drive and embed organisational change is critical to success in this role. You will have demonstrable experience of owning and delivering complex change initiatives such as restructures, service redesigns, or workforce transformation, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and minimising disruption to staff and services.
You’ll bring excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to influence at all levels and handle sensitive situations with professionalism and empathy. Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities are essential. You must be confident using HR systems (Select HR) and Microsoft Office applications.
