As our business continues to grow, we are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to join our team and make a meaningful contribution to the commercial success of our projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor with at least one year of experience who is eager to build their career in a fast-paced, supportive environment, working closely with the Director and project delivery teams on a diverse range of projects.
The Role
In this role, you will support the commercial management of projects from tender stage through to final account, helping to ensure that projects are delivered on budget while building strong working relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors. Working onsite within projects, you will have the opportunity to develop your skillset and work closely with key stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities and Qualifications
- Prepare and manage Bills of Quantities (BOQs).
- Support tender submissions, cost plans, and detailed estimates.
- Prepare project budgets, preliminaries, and cost forecasts.
- Obtain and assess quotations from subcontractors and suppliers.
- Assist with the procurement of subcontract packages and materials.
- Prepare and issue subcontract documentation.
- Monitor project costs and identify commercial risks and opportunities.
- Manage variations and change control throughout the project lifecycle.
- Prepare interim valuations, applications for payment, and final accounts.
- Review and process subcontractor valuations and payments.
- Contribute to monthly cost reporting and financial forecasting.
- Carry out site visits to monitor progress and verify completed works.
- Assist with contract administration and commercial correspondence.
- Maintain accurate project records and commercial documentation.
- Work closely with the Director, Project Managers, and Site Teams to support successful project delivery.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, suppliers, and subcontractors.
At least 1 year of experience in a Quantity Surveying role.
A degree or relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
A strong understanding of construction costs, procurement, and commercial management.
Excellent numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the wider Microsoft Office suite.
A full UK driving licence.
The ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
Experience in fit-out, refurbishment, or interior construction projects.
Knowledge of JCT and NEC forms of contract.
Experience preparing cost plans and tender submissions.
Familiarity with construction estimating software.
