Malay Fellas is the home of Malaysian cuisine in London, offering warm hospitality and authentic flavours. We are expanding our team for a new Queensway location and are looking for passionate, reliable individuals to join key roles across the restaurant.

About Us: Malay Fellas is a modern Malaysian restaurant in Bayswater, London. We focus on authenticity, high quality, staff meals & discounts, and a supportive team environment.

Position: Head Chef (Pan‑Asian / Malaysian Cuisine)

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all kitchen operations.
  • Lead, train and manage the kitchen team.
  • Maintain consistency, quality, and presentation of dishes.
  • Control stock, ordering and prep management.
  • Ensure food safety and hygiene compliance.
  • Collaborate with owners on menu development and cost control.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef.
  • Strong wok experience.
  • Background in Pan‑Asian or Southeast Asian cuisine.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to run a busy kitchen with high standards.
  • Valid right to work in the UK.
Position: Chef De Partie

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in day‑to‑day kitchen operations.
  • Prepare and cook dishes to a high standard.
  • Work across different sections, including wok station.
  • Maintain consistency, quality, and presentation of dishes.
  • Support stock control and basic prep management.
  • Ensure food safety and hygiene standards are followed.
  • Work closely with the Head Chef and kitchen team.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 1 year experience as a Chef de Partie or similar role.
  • Experience in a fast‑paced kitchen.
  • Wok experience required.
  • Basic understanding of Pan‑Asian or Southeast Asian cuisine.
  • Reliable, organised, and able to handle pressure.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
