Quality Assurance and Test Lead in London

The Vacancy Malaria Consortium is recruiting for a Quality Assurance and Test Lead on a permanent, full-time basis to join our Design, Data and Technology (DDaT) team to be based in London, UK.

The Job Purpose is to:

• Support the successful delivery of strategic digital, data and technology projects by leading the quality assurance, testing, business readiness and post-go-live review approach for assigned projects.
• Work closely with the DDaT Project Manager, Design Lead, business owners, subject matter experts, business users and external suppliers to ensure that projects are delivered with appropriate quality controls throughout the project lifecycle.
• Help ensure that business requirements, process designs, supplier outputs, data, reports and system changes are sufficiently clear, testable, validated and ready for operational use.
• Develop DDaT testing standards, templates and methods; plan and coordinate testing activity; support quality assurance across the project lifecycle; coordinate business readiness assurance; improve test capability across business teams; support post-go-live review; and coordinate business validation of data and reporting outputs.
• Plan, organise and coordinate testing activity, enabling business users, subject matter experts and process owners to complete user acceptance testing, business process validation, data validation and reporting validation.

The post holder must possess:

• Strong experience in test management, quality assurance, user acceptance testing, business readiness, business systems testing or a closely related role.
• Experience developing test approaches, test plans, test schedules, test scripts, test reporting and test completion evidence.
• Experience coordinating business users, subject matter experts or process owners to carry out user acceptance testing or business process testing.
• Experience managing defect logging, triage, prioritisation, tracking, retesting and reporting.
• Experience reviewing business requirements, process designs or supplier outputs to ensure they are clear, testable and suitable for acceptance.
• Experience working on systems implementation, digital transformation or data projects.
• Experience working closely with project managers, business analysts/design leads, suppliers and business stakeholders.
• Experience supporting business readiness, operational acceptance, transition or go-live assurance.
• Experience coordinating validation of data, reports, dashboards or business-critical outputs.
• Experience producing clear documentation, reports, checklists, guidance and evidence for project governance.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams and managing multiple stakeholder perspectives.
• Degree-level qualification in a relevant discipline or equivalent professional experience.
• Excellent test planning, coordination and organisational skills.
• Strong understanding of user acceptance testing, business process testing and business readiness assurance.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Ability to coordinate business users and subject matter experts who are not professional testers.
• Ability to work effectively with project managers, design leads, suppliers, technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to assess whether requirements, processes and outputs are sufficiently clear, complete and testable.
• Ability to identify test risks, quality gaps, readiness issues, defects and unresolved acceptance concerns.
• Ability to produce clear, structured and high-quality documentation, including test plans, reports, readiness checklists and guidance.
• Strong attention to detail, particularly in test evidence, defect tracking, readiness criteria and reporting.
• Ability to communicate test progress, quality risks and readiness issues clearly to senior stakeholders and governance groups.
• Confidence chairing test readiness reviews, test progress meetings, defect triage sessions and readiness discussions.
• Ability to challenge constructively and escalate issues with clear options and recommendations.
• Ability to build capability and confidence among business users involved in testing.
• Proactive, practical and solutions-oriented approach.
