Head of Creative – Malaberg

Malaberg is a Direct‑to‑Consumer brand holding company that builds and grows brands from product development to marketing and customer service. We solve real problems and scale brands using data‑backed performance marketing.

Overview

We are looking for a Head of Creative who is at heart a “Commercial Producer.” You will sit at the intersection of our Copywriting Department and our Paid Media Team and translate high‑converting copy concepts into high production‑value assets (Video, Funnels, Branding) at speed and volume.

Responsibilities

1. Translate “The Big Idea” into Assets – Take directives from the Copy Department and translate them into actionable Asset Plans (shot lists, casting, editing briefs, landing page designs) and own visual engagement and retention.

2. Manage the Production Engine (The System) – Build and maintain SOPs in Notion to keep the editing machine running without bottlenecks, manage internal team (Editors, Designers) and external talent (contractors, UGC creators).

3. The Feedback Loop (Data > Ego) – Partner closely with the Head of Biddable, live in the data, scale production within guardrails, analyze drop‑off points and deploy variations immediately.

4. Own the Funnel Experience – Responsible for the visual CRO of our landing pages and sales funnels.

Who You Are

  • A “T‑Shaped” Leader: Deep technical roots in video production or design, broad knowledge of direct response marketing, funnels, and data.
  • Commercial First: Design is functional engineering intended to move the eye to the Buy Button; you prioritize clarity over cleverness.
  • High Velocity: Comfortable in a “Test & Learn” environment; you can get a viable test live in 48 hours.
  • Systems Thinker: You hate chaos, love organization, naming conventions, and project‑management tools.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 5+ years in a creative leadership role, preferably within DTC, eCommerce, or performance‑marketing environments.
  • Portfolio: Track record of performance advertising. Examples of CPA/ROAS improvements required.
  • Tech Proficiency: Expert in Adobe Creative Suite and Figma; familiarity with Notion and AI creative tools is a plus.
