The Maxwell Underground Mine, owned by Malabar Resources Ltd, has commenced operations at the Hunter Valley site. With a long life, the underground mine targets high-quality coal, with the majority being metallurgical coal. ABOUT THE ROLE

To support our ongoing growth, we currently have a number of opportunities for Mechanical Tradespeople to join our Whynot Bord and Pillar Team. The successful applicants will be passionate about mining and have a proven track record in an underground coal mining environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Install, commission, maintain and operate underground mining equipment.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and hydraulic faults.
  • Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance.
  • Collaborate with team members to optimize equipment performance and minimize downtime.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used.

ABOUT YOU

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have a minimum of 2 years' experience in underground coal mining.
  • Hold a certificate of proficiency in a mechanical trade.
  • Have sound knowledge of underground mining equipment and machinery.
  • Have completed Hydraulics 1 & 2 training.
  • Exhibit excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Show a strong commitment to safety protocols and procedures.
  • Be able to work effectively both in a team and independently.
  • Possess Explosion Protected (ExDES) certification (desirable).

Successful applicants will be required to undertake an Order 45 medical, including drug and alcohol testing.
